Who We Are:
THE FIRST CHRISTIAN CHURCH IN LAURENS was organized in 1892, and through the years has been a cherished and active part of the Laurens community. We are part of the fellowship known as the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).

WE BELIEVE in the importance of the Bible as the basic guide to Christian living and faith, that Jesus is the Christ, the son of the living God and He is our only creed. We emphasize the unity of all Christians, as well as the right to freedom and diversity of belief.

WE CELEBRATE the Lord's Supper each Sunday as a central part of our worship. We practice baptism by immersion, though as an open membership congregation we warmly welcome the transfer of members from other Christian traditions without re-baptism.

WE ARE congregationally governed. We work in cooperation with other congregations within our own tradition, and with other denominations in the family of the church.

WE WARMLY EXTEND the right hand of fellowship to any who wish to become a part of this community of faith.
